Is Jerry Rivera tired of experimenting with romantic music? Is he back to what he does best - singing salsa? Is he back for good? It seems so. The salsa and pop sensation has made his stunning return with a tribute to Frankie Ruiz, Canto a Mi Idolo. In this hardcore-salsa CD Jerry brings back to light Frankie’s most popular hits leaving the original chorus and sound almost intact. The biggest transformation takes place on the bonus track, song #11, where Jerry welcomes rapper Voltío to make a successful urban version of the first promotional single “Mi Libertad.” Jerry Rivera met Frankie Ruiz at age 12, long before his singing success, and they were close friends until 1998, when Ruiz died. A picture of the young Jerry hugging his idol makes up the CD cover.
