The duo Sin Bandera released their self-titled album in September of 2001 and a short time later it had gone gold, then platinum, then earned the group a Latin Grammy for Best Pop Album, the Premio Lo Nuestro for Best Pop Album of the year and a Grammy nomination for Best Latin Pop Album.
In Mexico, around 2001, Leonel García, a romantic 27 year-old singer-songwriter was living at the will of his loyal guitar, his beautiful vocals and passionate songs. At the same time, in the same place, Noel Schajris (an Argentinean immigrant), another young man with the same artistic qualities had released his first album, but had never made it to the limelight.
When for some reason destiny brought them together Noel and Leonel, awed by so many similarities, didn’t question the will of such powerful chemistry, and decided to form Sin Bandera.
Sin Bandera, because as they say “love doesn’t have flags, music doesn’t have flags, and we have come to the conclusion that the most important things in life, don’t have them either.”
Since joining their talents, their careers have been living in a perpetual spring, enjoying the attention of thousands of fans, several platinum and gold albums, extraordinary reviews, and dozens of awards and nominations.
Now, after a long promotional tour the Argentinean/Mexican duo are writing the songs and preparing for their next album, which should be released around the middle of the year.
